Winter can be a magical time at Cutbow Bend. The valley is quieted down from the summer bustle, the elk have moved down from the high country, and the Absaroka mountains are blanketed in snow as you watch from the cozy confines of the home. Plenty of activities, including alpine skiing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling are available to keep you busy. Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding

Bridger Bowl, famous for its cold smoke powder and local down-home feel is located 45 miles to the northwest of Cutbow Bend in the majestic Bridger mountain range. Bridger Bowl has over 2000 acres of terrain, 2700 feet of vertical rise, and some of the best hike-to-ski terrain in the country.

Snowmobiling

Many of Cutbow’s winter guests come here for the area’s world-class snowmobiling. Cooke city, a famous destination for sled necks, is 93 miles to the southeast through the Lamar Valley on boarder of YNP. Yellowstone Nation Park itself offers over 400 miles of groomed trails and plenty of outfitters to guide you. Mill Creek trailhead, located directly to the east of Cutbow bend offers local option and 12 miles of groomed trails.

Cross-country skiing

One of the best ways to experience Paradise Valley and Yellowstone National Park is on a pair of cross-country skis. Local options include Mill Creek, the canyon directly to the east of Cutbow bend, featuring groomed trails perfect for the beginner or family adventure.
